Crime Blotter for June 2000

7800 block of Beverly Boulevard. A caucasian man entered a fast food establishment, approached the counter and failed to acknowledge the inherent dignity of all living beings. No further description of the suspect was available.

2000 block of South Bedford Avenue. A victim and suspect were involved in a debate about world peace. The suspect pushed the victim, causing her to fall and leaving her with scratches.

5700 block of Sawtelle Boulevard. An unknown suspect was chanting too fast. Suspect fled when confronted.

2100 block of Argyle Avenue. A 26-year-old caucasian man returned to his locked and secured house to discover that his altar fruit was rotten. There was no sign of forced entry.

1400 block of Vermont Avenue. A man described as wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and tan shoes, weighing 150 pounds and standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, fell asleep during a dharma talk. Upon being awakened he inadvertently broke a window with an unknown hard object.

8700 block of Beverly Boulevard. A woman attempted to rush through morning gongyo while driving to work, striking a parking supervisor with her vehicle. The victim fell onto the hood of the vehicle. The suspect drove 75 feet until the parking supervisor fell off. Suspect then completed her sutra recitation and called an ambulance.

3000 block of Atwater Avenue. A juvenile suspect reportedly offered a mud pie to the Buddha.

Corner of San Fernando Road and Fletcher Drive. A black-haired, brown-eyed man was observed by officers to have no Messianic resolve. The suspect was placed under arrest.

Corner of Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway. A victim last saw his prayer beads when he paid for his parking at the beach. While lying on the beach, the victim observed his beads missing from his pants.

6200 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Unknown suspect was seen burning an incense stick from right to left instead of left to right.

Corner of Highland Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. A 22-year-old Latina was approached at a bus stop by a 32-year-old Latino, who asked, "Have you heard of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo?" The suspect has black hair, brown eyes, weighs 160 pounds and stands 5 feet 5 inches tall.

8500 block of Beverly Boulevard. A woman observed a suspect sitting inside her vehicle on the driver's side. The suspect saw the victim, got out of her car, apologized to the victim for breaking her window, then got back in her car and left. The car was later found in the same spot after victim chanted for three hours. The car had a sweet spicy odor like baked apples.

1200 block of North Flores. The suspect, identified as a master, allegedly slapped the victim, identified as a student, in the face with an unidentified item of footwear.

1600 block of Sargent Place. A census-taker was threatened with a semi-automatic pistol upon knocking at the door of a home. The suspect, a caucasian woman who stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, answered the victim's knock with a gun in her right hand and stated, "I'm meditating."
