Welcome to Samsara

This site will be home for my new weekly column and other writings. Samsara will not be your garden variety Buddhist forum. Not much will be off limits with me - a little warped satire, the blinding light of truth, some irony and a whole lot of subjects that others wont touch. My style is best summed up by the words of author, Robert Anton Wilson, when he described the writing philosophy of Earnest Hemingway. Of all the requirements a writer needs, the most important is a built in, cast iron, shock proof bullshit-detector.
My modus operandi is to create thought-provoking articles on Buddhism and other topics of interest. My allegiance is to Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, Shakyamuni, Nichiren, the Gohonzon, The Lotus Sutra, and the Gosho. You will not find any SGI bashing on my site. Our differences can be stated as such: The decision makers for the SGI-USA dont want anything to do with my book, Modern Buddhist Healing. Although their decision is baffling, and a disservice to the members, I dont need their sanction to write popular and correct books on Buddhism. The end.

We will explore many interesting and controversial subjects. Keep in mind, I dont just write about Buddhist healing. The first few months will feature articles on ESP, divination and Buddhism; the Buddhist and Vedic history of psychotropic substances and achieving samadhi states of consciousness; Vimanas (ancient aerial craft of the Gods) the written and not so secret record of UFOs in Vedic and Buddhist legend; and so on. In other words, I will be writing about way-out stuff rather than the boring politics, policies or rumors about the Soka Gakkai. There will also be plenty of down to earth, faith based articles about the Lotus Sutra, Gosho, and the full spectrum of Eastern-Western ontology. Nothing lame.

This site will grow in many ways as the wheel turns. I will include links to authors and important subjects. I will also shamelessly hawk my new books, magazine articles, and public appearances. I will still write some articles for BuddhaJones and possibly some book reviews too. Your input will be vital. Youll have a forum. I am quite accessible and you are free to contact me directly through this site. If you have something important to say, let me know.

Thanks for visiting Samsara. Look for the first column before December 1st. Until then

Charles Atkins
