Tale of two Buddhist leaders

SGIBuddhism

While the Dalai Lama is banned from South Africa and Tibetan Buddhists resist the brutality of China, SGI is busy bragging about how great Daisaku Ikeda is.

Ikeda has won his 250th honorary academic degree, according to a SGI press release issued via PR Newswire.

Other Buddhists do the heavy lifting. SGI takes a public relations glory lap.

SGI is so dedicated to portraying Ikeda as a world leader that they write books for him and contribute to Universities so that they will in turn award him with honorary degree's, yet he still languishes in annonimity to the world. No one pays attention to Ikeda. On the other hand, the Dalai Lama recieves recognition without having to pay for accolades, and is world renowned. The end does not justify the means.
