Soka cultiness on parade

SGINichirenCultHumorBuddhism

This link has been making the rounds... Listen to the sound of SGI-USA's frantic, militaristic rah-rah membership-recruitment drives and jawdropping reverence of "sensei" Daisaku Ikeda and the "mentor/disciple relationship."

What does this sound like to you? A dharma talk, or a multilevel marketing rally? This is not a parody -- it is a real SGI teleconference.

OMG. This has nothing to do with Nichiren Buddhism. Listen.

This conference call is representative of what I've observed at WPP meetings quite frequently.Nichiren Buddhism in the hands of SGI, has become a kind of Tupperware marketing campaign. The opening experience, in all its enthusiasm, sounds like the testimony of a street hawker. As if this noble practice is all about getting converts and delivering Gohonzons.I couldn't keep listening. When President Ikeda dies - he will be declared the Buddha of this age, or the reincarnation of Nichiren and the other shoe will drop as SGI goes over the edge.

I could not listen to the end either IT DOES sound like tupperware - terrible to what SGI has come to.Hey, but we are out there watching them :-)
