Does Buddhist chanting violate Catholicism?

ChantingBuddhism

This and other intriguing questions were explored in the Philippine Daily Inquirer:

..."Reincarnation is not a teaching in Catholicism, and in greater Christianity. This is so because it goes against the redemptive death of Jesus Christ. Catholics believe that we are given one life by God, and death spells a particular judgment by God. With this, then, there seems to be no room, or no need to be reincarnated because the fullness of life is already achieved with God...."

You might not agree with it all, but it's an interesting exchange. Linky.

According to one book, modern Church scholars are divided in their opinion on whether reincarnation was indeed condemned in the Second Council of Constantinople.
This is a well known historical fact...people that write this stuff should do the research. The so-called scholars that disagree are probably Catholic shills.Frank

However,In two of the Gospels, Jesus says of John the Baptist, "Here is Elijah, come again", one would think intimating reincarnation.  He was mostly teaching basic Buddhism, but had only 3 years and mostly they didn't understand what he had to say in the first place.A.

Matthew 17:9-13:

9. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus ordered them, 'Tell no one about the vision until after the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.' 10. And the disciples asked him, 'Why, then, do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?' 11. He replied, 'Elijah is indeed coming and will restore all things; 12. but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but they did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man is about to suffer at their hands.' 13. Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.
and Mark 9:11-13
11. Then they asked him, 'Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?' 12. He said to them, 'Elijah is indeed coming first to restore all things. How then is it written about the Son of Man, that he is to go through many sufferings and be treated with contempt? 13. But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written about him.'
