Call a spade "revisited"

I am choosing to re-write my last blog for reasons that I feel differently about what I wrote than before I wrote it. My devoted readers may or may not wish to go back and read the previous blog for historical reference.

I participated for a short time on SokaGakkaiInternational@yahoogroups.com until I found that at least one of my posts had been censored, or moderated from the list. This really bothered me, more accurately it hurt my feelings. I dont like to be silenced without explanation. I ran back to Buddhajones and wrote call a spade a spade. I in fact did not mean for it to be a personal attack which is why no one was named personally, though certainly it is a small world and anyone who participates on that list knows of whom I was speaking. Truthfully though, it was the behavior and not the person that hurt my feelings.

Well, my blog was taken very personally and instead of responding openly to what I wrote (and to the mistakes and assumptions I made) someone threatened vague legal action to force my blog to be censored from Buddhajones. That course of action really made me angry.

Anyway, as one would run home and belly-ache to Mommy and Daddy I ran back to Zadankai to complain about my mistreatment. Funny thing is, the person to whom this was directed has been on Zadankai for quite some time, though I believe he was not actively reading posts. FINALLY this individual responded to me, not directly, but responded none the less with a very long and lucid explanation of his feelings as well as defending his actions on the SokaGakkaiInternational list.

Bottom line I made assumptions, I misrepresented and I misunderstood. I didnt research before I wrote. Will I be more careful before a launch an attack on someone for something that happened to me next time? Hell no. Forget about it. But, I do state now that I feel differently about what happened and apologize for name-calling.

The lingering question I have now is why didnt he kick my ass BEFORE he threatened with all that legal nonsense? My ass can be kicked. It has before many times and will again. Andy Hanlen kicked my ass good in his reply to call a spade a spade and I didnt even fight back.

So that is what I will be left with for myself, wondering why some people choose not to stand up for themselves and instead fight dirty like some damn sneaky Ninja or something uh wait. Ninja are cool. Better think this one through too.

My apologies and for the record I still hate censorship.

Rev. Greg, Shidoshi
